The Sons of the American Revolution (SAR) is a historical, educational, and patriotic "lineage" society comprised of male descendants of patriots who supported the cause of American Independence during the years 1774-1783.

Membership is open to any man who can document his ancestry to an American Patriot of the Revolutionary era. The Patriot need not have been a soldier; Patriots were people (men and women) who gave tangible assistance to the cause of independence.

Duneland Chapter meetings are held at the Porter County Community Foundation, 1401 Calumet Avenue, Valparaiso, IN, at 10:30 am Central Time on the first Saturday of February, April, June, August, October, and December.
